Meet the Staff

My name is Yvette Rivera, and I am a dedicated and experienced Ophthalmic Technician with a strong passion for eye care and patient well-being. With several years of hands-on experience supporting ophthalmologists and optometrists, I take pride in delivering accurate diagnostic testing, performing refractions, and helping patients feel comfortable during their visits. I enjoy being part of a team that helps improve patients' vision and quality of life. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, exploring nature, and fitness. I bring a calm, compassionate presence to the clinic and strive to always grow both professionally and personally. 

With over 10 years of experience at our clinic, Diana enjoys helping patients feel welcome and supported. She takes pride in assisting with appointment scheduling and making each patient’s experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Emily is a dedicated ophthalmic technician at Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates, where she supports patients with compassionate service and spends her days helping people see the world more clearly (literally). A graduate of Southwest Texas College's EMT program, Emily brings a strong medical background and a calm, detail-oriented approach to her work with a positive attitude!Beyond the clinic, Emily embraces the rewarding role of being a mother to a lively toddler, who keeps her on her toes, or you'll catch her recharging with a smoothie bowl, balancing her professional life with the joy and challenges of parenthood. 

I'm Elva Maus, an ophthalmic technician at Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates since October 2007. I began my eyecare journey under the guidance of Dr. Carlos E. Rodriguez, and now under Dr. Priscilla R. Heredia. Through this time, I obtained my Bachelors in Biology at Sul Ross University. I've learned to appreciate and admire our community through our patients and their experiences. In my family, we grew up really close and Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates is like family; therefore, I enjoy treating patients like such. I'm proud of helping patients locally with all their eye care needs. Besides work, I enjoy shopping, traveling, family time and admiring  nature. 

My name is Tanya Tapia. I am the medical billing specialist for Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates. I have had the privilege to be part of our amazing team for 13 years. My favorite part of the work I do is when I am able to help our patients with any of their billing questions and help them solve any issues that they may have. It's an honor to still have the privilege to serve our patients for these past 13 years. I am currently pursuing a degree in Organizational Leadership which I hope will help me serve our patients even better. I am married and I am a mother to two amazing boys. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time on the baseball fields with my sons. 

My name is Sally. I have had the pleasure of serving our community under Southwest Texas Eyecare Associates for 9 years as the Insurance Verification Coordinator. Here, I have met so many amazing people who I have been able to assist whether it'd be insurance questions, benefits, or even minor details regarding their care. I am a mother of 3, and spend my days between band, soccer and T-ball practices. I enjoy chasing my little ones around and spending time with my parents and siblings.
